I am a contemporary artist whose work is deeply rooted in personal experience, healing, and a desire to inspire social change. Raised in Colorado, I have always been profoundly influenced by the people around me, particularly those who have experienced pain and hardship. Through my art, I aim to foster healing and bring individuals together, creating spaces where collective transformation and empathy can take root.
From a young age, I was drawn to creativity. I recall the hours spent as a child drawing the same toy sheep over and over, each attempt an effort to improve, to refine, to communicate something deeper. That early passion for art sparked a lifelong commitment to growth, and today I work primarily in sculpture and photography. My practice embraces analog techniques and tactile materials—metal, wood, textiles, ceramics, and found objects in sculpture, and traditional photographic processes like cyanotypes, gum prints, black-and-white photography, lumen prints, and Polaroid techniques. These methods connect me to the physical world, grounding my work in a sensory experience that celebrates texture, touch, and presence.
One of my most cherished pieces is The Perfect Mess, a work that encapsulates my artistic philosophy. The piece embodies raw, authentic energy, both in its creation and its presence, and invites viewers to bring their own interpretations to the work. This piece reflects my belief in vulnerability—the idea that art can serve as a conduit for healing, offering a space for personal reflection and collective dialogue.
Throughout my journey, I have been driven not only by my own experiences but also by the pain I have witnessed in the world. My work aims to shine a light on the potential for healing through empathy, understanding, and unity. I believe in the power of art to address societal issues, to create spaces where we can confront challenges together and move toward transformation.
